Many liberal activists are no fans of Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez, judging by the chilly reception his name received a Maine rally on Monday.
Democrats are attempting to cash in on the popularity of Sen. Bernie Sanders, who is traveling the country with Perez to “unify” Democrats.
At the Portland rally, a young speaker said, “Regardless of why you showed up today, you showed up for a reason.
“Maybe it’s because you love a certain senator from Vermont,” the woman said as the crowd cheered and began to chant “Bernie!”
“Maybe you came though because you’re curious about the new DNC chairman and the future of the Democratic Party,” she continued, triggered widespread boos.
The human backdrop stood frozen, with no one cheering for Perez.
