Hours after giving thanks, Black Friday shoppers poured into shopping centers across the country to brawl over deep discounts on vacuums, TVs and other must haves.

At several Walmarts, the scene was mayhem with grown adults duking it out for deals.

“Nothing depicts the soul of America more than 3 men fighting over a retail item on Black Friday,” Hirsty posted to Twitter with a video of one altercation, “this is what it looks like when your soul is corrupted by materialism.”

The video, posted by Paul Watson, initially shows four men in a tug of war over a large Fisher-Price box, until one of their significant others insisted they “let it go.”

“Stop! Let go! Let it go!” the woman said as a man decked out in camo releases the box.

Three other men then continue to push the large toy car around the check-out area as they attempt to wrest control of the box, which begins to fall apart during the scuffle.

“You’re breaking it,” a shopper recording the incident shouted.

“Hey guys, the cops are coming to arrest you,” a store employee said.

Seconds later another employee intervenes to quell the ruckus after one man gives up and two others continue the scuffle.

“Drop it!” the employee shouted. “Neither one of you gets it.”

It was a similar scene at another Walmart, where two women battled it out over two discounted Shark vacuums wrapped together as a man recording the confrontation egged them on.

“Take that shit! Ya,” he said, mocking the women. “Pull it!”

“This shit’s wild!” he said.

Neither of the women would let up, and a female store employee was forced to cut in to split the package as a baby cried in the background.

A minute later a Walmart manager and another employee in an elf hat showed up to settle the dispute.

“No!” the manager yelled. “Put it down!”

Other stores were absolute pandemonium, with what appears to be dozens of shoppers shoving, screaming and cursing as police attempted to control a massive mob in the electronics department.

There was also madness inside a Cedar Park, Texas Walmart before the festivities even began.

Someone apparently started two fires in the store earlier in the week, forcing officials to shut it down the day before Thanksgiving.

“Lots of black smoke just radiating from that area,” shopper Jackie Sinclair said, recording the incident while at the store Wednesday.

“How did this happen?” Sinclair questioned. “Time to go – that’s a little too big for my taste.”

The video shows flames reaching well above the aisles, nearly to the ceiling.

“Next thing you know, it’s like, hey there’s all these flames everywhere and this big old cloud of smoke, flames up to the ceiling,” she told HLN. “It was crazy high. You wouldn’t think something could start that fast, but it did.”

Cedar Park Fire officials told KXAN that police arrested a suspect in the alleged arson, which involved two separate fires, one near the apparel and the other in the vacuum aisle.

“It is unusual, of course, I don’t know a lot of details of the motive right now,” fire marshal Randle Blesing told the news site.

Still other folks are getting creative for the biggest shopping day of the year.

Twitter user 6’4 posted an image of a Walmart vest on the social media site days before Black Friday and listed it for sale for $100.

“I’m selling this Walmart vest for $100. Use it to skip the line during Black Friday,” 6’4 wrote. “You can even walk in, grab what you want, and walk out.”

After more than 80,000 likes and 30,000 retweets, 6’4 explained that the post was a joke, though he received numerous messages from eager shoppers willing to take him up on the offer.

“Lol people really been trying to buy the Walmart vest,” he wrote. “It was a joke I don’t even own a Walmart vest.”

Regardless, the idea quickly caught on with several other folks looking to capitalize on the idea with uniforms from Walmart, Best Buy and other outlets.

“Going out for Black Friday?” Fat Kid Deals posted. “Pick up this Walmart vest for $30! Might be able to cut some lines.”

“I know them Walmart vest seemed like a good deal, but I got these Gest Buy joints going for $110 walk right in, skip the line, and take whatever you want!” Teezy wrote.

“Walmart vest for sale!” benneth wrote. “80 dollars … Walk right in; Get what u want and walk right out on Black Friday. I’m willing to negotiate.”

Unfortunately, it seems Walmart caught on quickly.

“This spread so fast that at the manager meeting today we were told that if we see anyone we don’t recognize on Thursday/black Friday wearing a Walmart vest, to question them,” Emily Gould posted with several crying emojis.
