House speaker Nancy Pelosi said she’s okay with socialist Bernie Sanders as the standard bearer for the Democrat party.

Pelosi doesn’t fear a Sanders nomination would cost the Democrats their House majority.

“Will you be okay if Bernie Sanders is the nominee?” NBC News producer Alex Moe asked her.

“Yes,” Pelosi responded.

“Do you have any concerns that you could lose the majority?” Moe followed up.

“No,” Pelosi answered.

That’s a different opinion than one of her deputies recently shared.

Rep. James Clyburn told “This Week” that a Sanders nomination would be an “real burden” to other candidates.

“I think it would be a real burden for us in these states or congressional districts that we have to do well in. If you look at how well we did the last time, and look at the congressional districts, these were not liberal or what you might call progressive districts,” he said.

“These were basically moderate and conservative districts that we did well in. And in those districts, it’s going to be tough to hold on to these jobs if you have to make the case for accepting a self-proclaimed democratic socialist.”
