Is Tim Kaine the Charlie Brown of the Democratic presidential ticket?

As Hillary Clinton recovers from her reported bout of pneumonia, more pressure is going to be put on Kaine to carry the ticket through the election.

If a statement he made on Friday in Norfolk, Virginia is any indication, they might be in trouble.

“I tell people all the time: I may be 8-0, but I don’t win by much,” Kaine said, referring to his election victory record.

“I mean, if I’m honest, I win by a little, not by a lot. I don’t feel like it’s fair to ask my friends to pay for a landslide. I mean that would just be unfair,” he said.

“And I also say for young people, career advice, if you find you’re just a barely likeable enough person, go into politics. If just got to get 51%.

“I mean, it’s been the secret of my success. I’m a barely likeable enough guy,” Kaine said.
