Rather than work toward bipartisanship and unity, a prominent Democrat is now taking a page out of Hillary Clinton’s book.

On Tuesday, Rep. Steve Cohen, D-TN, took to Twitter to suggest Trump’s address from the Oval Office on Tuesday night resembled Ku Klux Klan “tactics.”

Cohen also implied that Trump’s “audience” is similar to Ku Klux Klan membership.

Cohen’s salacious tweet, which was later deleted, was in response to presidential biographer Jon Meacham, who suggested in his tweet that calls for a border wall are comparable to the Ku Klux Klan.

In another tweet, which has not been deleted, Cohen described Trump as a “national emergency.”

The Tennessee Democrat fired off a third tweet that insulted Americans as “plain folks of the land” who are following “a downright and complete narcissistic moron” like Trump.

Cohen has been busy since Democrats took control of the U.S. House of Representatives last Thursday.

Just hours after taking control of the lower chamber, Cohen introduced two radical bills. One would prohibit president’s from pardoning themselves or their family members, and the other would abolish the electoral college.

A press release from Cohen’s office stated:

“Senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, introduced two Constitutional Amendments today on the opening day of the new Congress. The first would eliminate the Electoral College and provide for the direct election of the President and Vice President of the United States. The second would limit the presidential pardon power by prohibiting presidents from pardoning themselves, members of their families, members of their administrations and their campaign staff.”

“In two presidential elections since 2000, including the most recent one in which Hillary Clinton won 2.8 million more votes than her opponent, the winner of the popular vote did not win the election because of the distorting effect of the outdated Electoral College. Americans expect and deserve the winner of the popular vote to win office. More than a century ago, we amended our Constitution to provide for the direct election of U.S. Senators. It is past time to directly elect our President and Vice President.”

“Presidents should not pardon themselves, their families, their administration or campaign staff. This constitutional amendment would expressly prohibit this and any future president, from abusing the pardon power.”

In August, Cohen “joked” that then-Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn should jump off a bridge.

During a speech at a Memphis church, Cohen claimed Blackburn will do “whatever the president” asks and “joked” that he wanted to see Trump order her off a bridge.

“The big orange president … He’s going to come down here and he is going to endorse Marsha Blackburn, because Marsha Blackburn, if he says, ‘Jump off the Harahan Bridge,’ she’ll jump off the Harahan Bridge. I wish he’d say that,” Cohen told the audience.

Prior to that, Cohen strongly implied that a military coup needed to take place to save the United States from Trump.

Cohen appeared to suggest in a tweet that America’s “military folks” need to take action against Trump following his joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin at a summit in Finland.
