Cory who?
One of the only black candidates running for president was a bit of a mystery to a black church group as the senator was erroneously introduced as “Cory Baker.”

“Joining us from the great state of New Jersey,” the Black Church PAC event emcee said dramatically, “YLC conference, please help us welcome the former mayor of Newark, New Jersey and seventh African-American senator to serve in the U.S. Senate.
“Presidential candidate Sen. Cory Baker!” the Young Leaders Conference announcer said as Booker bounded onto the stage.
The slip-up is about as embarrassing as Booker’s proposed policies to fix America, such as the gun control measures he claims will restore “freedom” for Americans.
Booker told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Wednesday that daily shootings in places like Newark, New Jersey, where he served as mayor, “creates an environment so crippled by fear and trauma” that children cower and hide during Fourth of July fireworks in the inner city.
“We’ve created such a culture of fear that’s now penetrating all types of communities where we say the best we can do for our children now, when they go to school in September, is we can’t protect you, so we’re going to teach you how to duck for cover, shelter in place,” he said.
Booker argued a better solution would be to impose more background checks, because criminals who fire guns in public always respect the law, and they’d never be able to get their hands on a dangerous weapon with the proper paperwork.
“I’ve seen some of the most courageous officers, when I was mayor, run into buildings where they have no situational awareness, encounter weapons that have no business being on our streets, in the hands of people who would never have been able to get them if we had the most common-sense background checks,” Booker said.
The NRA has repeatedly pointed out that such laws punish only law-abiding gun owners, not criminals who buy their weapons from other criminals.
Regardless, Booker is pushing for more gun licensing, tighter restrictions on gun makers, handgun “microstamping,” a ban on “assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and bump stocks,” and “taking on the NRA,” CNSnews reports.
