Americans are losing hope in America being the last best hope on earth.
“Voters continue to show little optimism about America’s future and feel less strongly about this nation’s leadership role,” Rasmussen reports.
A new Rasmussen poll indicates only 32% of those surveyed believe America’s best days are still ahead.
Forty-six percent believe our best days have passed.
A December 2014 poll found only 27% of Americans believe the U.S. will still be the strongest country in the world at the end of the 21st century. A January 2009 survey – the time President Obama was taking office – found 37% believed the same thing. That’s a 10 percentage-point drop.
The number not believing America will be the #1 superpower rose from 34% to 48%.
A November 2014 survey found only 36% of Americans believe the Founding Fathers would consider the country “a success.”
More – 46% – think Washington, Jefferson and Adams would view the country as “a failure.”
