If you decide to visit JebBushForPresident.com in the near future, you may be left a little confused.

Oregon gay couple CJ Phillips and Charlie Rainwater bought the domain – on a hunch he would run for president – and plan to use it to deliver their own message.

“We thought, ‘wouldn’t it be awesome for people looking for Jeb Bush to learn about LGBTQ issues whether they liked it or not,'” Phillips tells The Oregonian.

They reportedly bought the domain in 2008, as Bush’s brother, George W. Bush, was leaving the presidency.

They saw it as a potential platform to attract an audience for their opinions – in a round-about way.

They were living in Texas at the time and “were irked by a bill in that state’s legislature that they feared would affect contracts they had written giving each other some of the legal protections married couples have,” the paper reports.

“We’ve never met Gov. Bush,” Phillips says. “He might be a nice man. (The domain name) is really just a hook and it gets us more exposure.”

The pair tell Business Insider they’ve had “multiple offers” to buy the domain, not disclosing they monetary values.

“We’ve had a couple of offers. One person asked flat-out why a gay couple would have a candidate centric domain,” Phillips tells Business Insider, adding, “The latest was someone saying they wanted to buy the domain as a birthday present for a friend, awwww!”

For now, Bush’s crew isn’t talking.
