Who knew one piece of rope could cost more than $7 million?
Ex-Iraqi Prime Minister Mowaffak Al-Rubaie says it’s not just any rope, but the one used to hang Saddam Hussein.
News.com.au reports his men brought him back the segment of the rope “after they cut Saddam down.”
The New York Post cites an “unidentified senior Iraqi political official” who told the Middle East news site Al-Araby al-Jadeed that “several individuals from Israel, Iran and Kuwait are vying to purchase the rope.”
One offered a $7 million.
Al-Rubaie says he wants even more.
He wouldn’t be able to benefit from selling his piece of history.
Local requires the money to be given to the state’s treasury, according to the Post.
