Police say a Sunday morning “attack” on the Grand Haven, Michigan Coast Guard station is being investigated as an act of “domestic terrorism.”
The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety reports a man “crashed his truck through the gate at the Coast Guard station and assaulted U.S. Coast Guard personnel,” according to WOOD TV.
During the incident, which occurred at 6 a.m., the man broke into the station and threatened he had an explosive device in his truck.

Coast Guard personnel subdued him and Grand Haven officers arrested him a short time later.
They “suffered minor injuries” and are “safe.”
Police say the man is not from the area.
“The investigation is expanding to areas outside of Grand Haven with assistance from the Michigan State Police and FBI,” the Grand Haven Tribune reports.
According to Mlive, additional law enforcement personnel and resources are heading toward Grand Haven to “secure the area.”
