Former economic adviser to President Reagan, Art Laffer, appeared on “With All Due Respect” to discuss his recent dinner with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
“Are you a supporter of Scott Walker’s now or not? Are you endorsing him?” Mark Halperin asked Laffer.
The economist responded that he doesn’t endorse candidates.
“Does he seem like a president, does he seem to be able to fill the Oval Office chair? Did he seem last night in front of that group to be presidential and big enough for the job?” Halperin wondered.
“I knew Scott when he was county executive in Milwaukee and I knew him fairly well. I saw him many times at that and have followed him during his career. You know, he is maturing extremely well. You know, when you get into the Oval Office remember it’s the sash that makes the person,” Laffer said.
“Being president, all of a sudden you become far more presidential than you ever were before.”
Laffer added, “I think Scott Walker is perfectly tuned to be president.”
