Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker is planning his first trip to South Carolina as a presumptive candidate, and he’s already being met with lavish praise.

“Gov. Scott Walker is one of America’s best governors and a proven election winner,” state Republican Party Chairman Matt Moore tells The State.

“Our Republican grassroots activists and party leaders look forward to hearing his Wisconsin success story in South Carolina,” he says of Walker’s March 19-20 trip.

The governor will headline party fundraisers in Columbia, Greenville, Rock Hill and Charleston.

CNN reports Walker will also meet with Gov. Nikki Haley, also successful in her re-election bid in 2014.

He’ll conclude his trip in Florence with a speech at a benefit for the NRA Foundation.

CNN notes Walker’s two-day trip will take him to “almost every important media market in the state, a rare effort for candidates, who usually build their visits around one or two cities at a time.”

Walker was last in the state to attend Haley’s campaign kickoff event in 2013.
