In Chicago, people are now even getting killed over posts on social media.
Chicago police say 22-year-old Clifton Frye was shot by 17-year-old Germel Dossie June 1 over comments Frye made about slain rapper “Young Pappy” on Facebook.
The rapper, whose real name was Shaquon Thomas, was shot in the city May 29, the Sun-Times reports.

DNA info reported then:
Two bullets to the back killed 20-year-old Shaquon Thomas, aka Young Pappy, while he was standing in the 4800 block of North Kenmore Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Witnesses told police a shiny, black four-door car was driving west on Lawrence Avenue with its rear driver’s side door open. After passing Kenmore Avenue, the driver hit the brakes, reversed east down Lawrence and turned onto Kenmore before stopping.
That’s when a thin man in a gray hoody was seen sprinting to the car and getting in, police said. …
The high-profile rapper had been shot at before, according to police officials.
Four days later, police say Dossie gunned down Frye. They haven’t said what Frye posted that allegedly led to his demise.
He died June 18.
Assistant State’s Attorney Akash Vyas alleges Dossie asked a friend to drive to the Rogers Park neighborhood as “an apparent getaway driver.”
Vyas says Dossie’s friend heard “three to four shots” down an alley, and saw Dossie jump back in the car with a gun.
According to Vyas, “Surveillance video captured an armed Dossie running from an alley towards Frye and firing.”
The arrest report lists Dossie as a member of the Insane Cutthroat Gangsters, a faction of the Gangster Disciples.
He is a sophomore at Truman High School.
