A British man called emergency services to say he wanted to press charges against his girlfriend and her cat after she allowed the feline to eat the man’s bacon.
The man called 999 – the British version of 911 – to report his girlfriend’s cat ate his bacon.
A recording of the call starts with the man being asked: “What’s your emergency?”
“Er..me girlfriend has let the cat eat my bacon,” the man responds.
The bewildered operator tried to determine if the man was serious or not. He was.
“I want to press charges,” he says back meaning both his girlfriend and the cat.
“Sir, it’s not an offense to let your cat eat your bacon. And we don’t arrest cats.”
The man, befuddled the police seemed reticent to take action, responds, “But me girlfriend allowed the cat to do it!”
