A man who didn’t like a Confederate flag in a woman’s window reportedly pushed her down and forced his way into her home in an attempt to remove it himself.
Racine, Wisconsin police say Tajaun Boatner “politely” asked a woman to remove the flag from her kitchen window. She did — and hung it in her bathroom window.
Dissatisfied with what the woman was doing on her private property, a criminal complaint states Boatner confronted her again and the two began yelling. She reportedly used a “racial slur.”
“The argument ended after Boatner reportedly walked up her front porch, pushed her down, and walked into the house to remove the Confederate flag,” according to the complaint, the Journal Times reports.
When police confronted Boatner, he allegedly became argumentative, according to ABC 2.
The complaint states he “struggled against officers to avoid being handcuffed” and “would not spread his feet so the police could pat him down for weapons, so two officers forced him to move his feet.”
Boatner also allegedly raged while officers tried to get him into the police car. He “kicked at the officers as they tried to close the door of the vehicle.”
He is charged with criminal trespassing, misdemeanor battery, disorderly conduct, misdemeanor theft and obstructing an officer.
He has two previous convictions on his record.
