It’s undeniable that flatulence on an airplane can be virtually deadly.
But a three-year-old’s toy “fart blaster” gun? Apparently that can be as well, according to Dublin airport security.
Can't believe that a minion fart gun was taken from friends toddler, security felt it posed a threat @DublinAirport pic.twitter.com/iAPLlmdTv3

The Irish news website Entertainment.ie reports the toy gun made famous in the movie “Despicable Me” and the series’ latest installment, “Minions,” was taken away from a child because it was deemed to be a “security threat.”
The gun emits random fart sounds, but no smells. There’s no evidence the child was playing with the toy in the airport and disturbing other passengers.
Security personnel zeroed in on the toy’s trigger, the boy’s mother, Daire Fitzpatrick explained on Facebook.
She claims the security agent knew exactly what it was — his own child has one, according to Fitzpatrick. Regardless, he took it away from the three-year-old boy.
Paula Morrin, the family friend who posted the tweet about the incident, has demanded that Dublin airport personnel return the child’s toy. The airport responded, asking Paula to send details to “customerexperience@daa.ie.”
“You can say anything you like about strict airport regulations but having worked in this same airport for over five years I can tell you the usual standards are not only woefully below par when it comes to important things,” Fitzpatrick wrote, “but not apparently when it comes to obviously harmless toys that light u a little boy’s life they are frustratingly laughable.”
