A repeat offender’s version of “Catch Me If You Can” played out this week, but the ending was very different.

When the Polk County, Florida Sheriff’s department posted a wanted picture for a burglary suspect on Facebook, police say he commented on the post, saying, “HELLO here i am…..”

“Just got done doing two yeara (sic) up the road…” he said, referring to prison.

The name of the Facebook user, Logan Hale, matched the name of the suspect they were looking for.

He also allegedly wrote, “Deputies continue to look for me but Are (sic) frustrated that i am unable to be located….”

The Sheriff’s office responded, too, writing, “Remaining ‘at large’ is only going to result in your having to change your FB name from ‘Finallyfree’ to ‘Back In Jail’ – it would be wise for you to turn yourself in to the nearest PCSO facility. Or give us a call – we’ll be happy to provide transportation. 863-298-6200.”

Hale was accused of “wanted for burglarizing a home in Lakeland on August 3, and then pawning the stolen items,” WTSP reports. He has been “up the road” five other times.

WFTS reports the suspect was found by deputies “riding in a vehicle in Lakeland.” His family told deputies “that he planned to turn himself in today.”

The Sheriff couldn’t help but gloat.

“Logan Hale, you are on your way to jail. Your attempts to hide were to no avail. Maybe you’ll make bail. Either way, your Facebook taunts were an ‘epic fail,’” Sheriff Grady Judd said after the arrest.

Hale was charged with armed burglary, grand theft of a firearm and dealing in stolen property.
