A Portland-bound flier is accused of using airplane seats as his urinal and fellow passengers as the target.
Police say 27-year-old Jeff D. Rubin was on a JetBlue night flight from Anchorage, Alaska when he awoke from being “slumped over asleep in his seat,” stood up and began urinating “onto the passengers” in the row in front of him, KOIN reports.
If that wasn’t bad enough, a police report states Rubin at some point lost his balance, fell backwards and “urinate(d) upwards which got the passengers and seats next to him as well as some other passengers’ personal belongings.”
Alaska Dispatch News reporter Suzanna Caldwell was on the flight, seated two rows up and on the other side of the plane from the action.
She reports seeing “garbage bags, paper towels and urine in the area.”
“Everyone was actually pretty calm,” Caldwell says.
“It’s not like anyone was screaming. I didn’t even realize anything had happened until the flight attendants came up to me and told me police were going to come onboard.”
Rubin reportedly went back to sleep after the incident and was woken up by police officers after the plane landed.
He was arrested by Port of Portland police and charged with one count each of second-degree criminal mischief and offensive littering.
He was booked into Multnomah County Detention Center at 5:10 a.m.
The Gresham, Oregon resident was released on his own recognizance.
