In what was described by fair organizers as a “small altercation,” video shows a mob attacking a carnival worker Sunday afternoon because the line wasn’t going fast enough for them.
The incident took place at the Delta Fair in Memphis. Fair administrators sought to downplay what took place, with Delta Fair representative Mark Lovell telling WREG, “The customers starting hollering and tried to push the operator.
“The police removed the unruly customers from the fair and everything when back to normal, with a beautiful final night at the 2015 Delta Fair.”
But the video shows several people shouting, crashing the gate, storming the ride and punches being thrown between a fairgoer and a ride attendant. The group went wild after being told they “would have to wait to get on the ride because it was full,” according to WMC.
Antonio Butler, 24, was arrested and charged with assault with bodily harm.
