Most people are repelled by the smell of feet. Apparently not Eddy Juan.

Miami police say 52-year-old Juan crawled under library tables at Florida International University to smell several women’s feet. He was allegedly caught in the act in photos.

University police had issued a warning across campus August 29th, alerting students that someone with a foot fetish may be lurking, the Sun Sentinel reports.

Someone matching that description, whom police say is Juan, was seen driving a scooter miles from campus. When officers approached the suspect, he allegedly led them on a chase driving the scooter.

Records show Juan is a registered sex offender with convictions dating back to 1992, NBC 6 reports. “His previous run-ins with the law includes charges of lewd and lascivious behavior on a child and indecent exposure.”

Officers attempted a traffic stop, but say the man fled on the scooter, eventually crashed and was arrested.

FIU police released a statement, saying:

On Tuesday afternoon, a member of the public saw the person and called Miami-Dade Police Department. Police officers saturated the area and located the individual riding a scooter. The individual attempted to flee and was apprehended and arrested. FIUPD appreciates the involvement of the concerned citizens of Miami-Dade County, who provided the information that led to this arrest.

 Juan was charged with violation of sexual offender registration, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, aggravated assault and resisting without violence, according to Fox 59.
