Things are getting heated between Marco Rubio and Rand Paul. Or their staffers, at least.

While Republican candidates and activists are converging on the northern Michigan tourist destination for the biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference this weekend, a campaign consultant has taken to social media to claim he was punched in the face at a popular bar by Marco Rubio’s campaign manager last night.

Veteran Michigan campaign consultant John Yob, who has worked for the likes of Gov. Rick Snyder, describes the alleged incident on Facebook:

Last night I went to a bar on Mackinac Island for the GOP Mackinac Conference. I ran into a guy named Rich Beeson, who frankly I didn’t even know who it was at first because he isn’t relevant in our political world.

Anyway, he is Marco Rubio’s national campaign manager. He literally physically assaulted me by punching me in the face. The state police are looking for him. I have it on video, from multiple angles. This will play out in the national media in the next few hours.

Yob is currently working for Sen. Rand Paul’s campaign and escorting Paul around the island. Rubio, Paul, Carly Fiorina, John Kasich and Ted Cruz are all scheduled to attend the three-day event.

The Detroit Free Press reports the incident took place at Horn’s Bar, a popular late-night watering hole along Main Street.

A police officer on the island would neither confirm nor deny the incident took place and deferred to the police chief, whom he said would be available this morning.

An email to the Rubio campaign so far has gone unreturned.

Beeson was also the political director for Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign.

UPDATE :: 1:17 p.m.

Surveillance video appears to show a woman getting the attention of a man before pointing out Yob. Then man then punches Yob in the face.
