A woman’s car was reduced to broken glass and twisted steel — all because of a tiny ole spider.

spider carKosciusko County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Chad Hill says 35-year-old Angela K. Kipp was backing out of her Syracuse, Indiana driveway when she saw a spider crawling on her shoulder, WANE reports.

Panicking, Kipp leaped out of the moving car, much to her 9-year-old son’s dismay.

The boy, who remained in the moving Dodge, left his spot in the backseat to attempt to stop the car. Instead of hitting the brake pedal, he hit the gas, causing the car to accelerate in reverse into the street.

The “driverless car” struck a passing school bus, which was not transporting children.

When emergency personnel arrived, they found the 9-year-old laying outside the car. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for “minor head injuries.”

According to WHIO, the bus driver was unharmed. No word on the fate of the spider.
