Maybe it was the jingling and jangling that was Alto Blocker’s downfall. Or maybe it was his waddle. Or perhaps it was the one “muscular” leg and the other, not so much.
Either way, Fort Pierce, Florida police arrest Blocker at Love’s truck stop on Okeechobee Road and what they found in his pants was astonishing: “Nineteen cans of Vienna sausages, five cans of SPAM, four bags of peanuts and two bottles of Smirnoff booze,” TCPalm.com reports.
A cashier called police at 2:27 a.m. to report a man had stolen merchandise from the store and drove away.
Police pulled Blocker over and he claimed he “felt dizzy” after taking some drugs.
“When Alto stepped out of the vehicle, I observed several large bulges in his left sweat pants leg,” an officer say in a police report.
Investigators seized the goods, valued to be worth $68.10, according to the paper.
Blocker was “arrested on charges including larceny – petit theft and driving while license suspended or revoked.”
He’s not the only Floridian accused of stuffing unbought food in his clothes.
Last month, a woman attempted to steal clams from a Florida grocery store by stashing them in her pants.
Palm Bay police say Debra Marceau went into the frozen food section of a Publix store, “opened a box of frozen clams and tried to put them down the front of her shorts,” WKMG reports.
Marceau also allegedly tried to stash about $45 worth of items — including a frozen pizza — in her purse.
She allegedly told police she stole the items because she’s “homeless and disabled,” according to a police report.
The Palm Beach Post reports Marceau was arrested and charged with retail theft.
