If you have a drug deal go awry, calling the police is probably not the best way to right it.
But the cops say that’s exactly what Erin Klich did.
Klich allegedly called 911 to complain that she had been short changed in a drug deal. Specifically, she paid $75, but claimed she never got her marijuana.
When police arrived at her location in Fort Myers, Florida, they found her outside, still talking with dispatchers, NBC 8 reports. Klich told officers the dealer inside the home took her money.
Klich was arrested on the spot, put in a patrol car and charged with misuse of 911. They later allegedly found a bag of pot wedged in the seat.
Police say if she wouldn’t have called 911, which likely wouldn’t have been arrested.
Instead, she landed in jail on two misdemeanors: misusing the emergency services line and the other for possession of marijuana.
“I’ve heard of people who have had it stolen and called 9-1-1. There’s no accounting for the human psyche I guess,” Fort Myers resident Tom Mecke tells NBC 2.
“Cut it back a little bit. She’s smoking a little bit too much… That’s pretty ridiculous, that’s pretty smart of her,” says another Fort Myers resident, Michael Atherton.
