For this cohabitation, it could be lights out.
Junes Rose Gines was so mad her roommate turned off the lights that she called the police. Four times in one hour, to be exact.
Gines called 911 several times “to report her roommate was ‘bothering her’ by turning the light switch on and off,” the Sheriff’s Office says, the Palm Beach Post reports.
Dispatchers allegedly issued Gines several warnings that the number was for emergencies only, Gines called 911 for the fourth time in an hour just before midnight Wednesday.
Deputies were dispatched to Gines’ home and she complained that her roommate kept switching the light on and off and that the roommate was knocking on the door to “bother her.”
The deputy reportedly told Gines not to call 911 unless her plight was a “life or death emergency.”
Gines then demanded that her “roommate should be arrested for turning the light switch off,” according to the deputy’s report. She got into a bit of a spat with the officer, telling him she “will call whenever she wants and do whatever she wants.”
Then, with the deputy standing there, the report states Gines used her cell phone to call 911 and set it to speakerphone. At that point, she was arrested and taken to the Palm Beach County Jail where she spent the night for free, courtesy of taxpayers.
The lights in the cell likely remained on all night.
