President Obama is hoping to use the shooting at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon as the backdrop for his call for more gun control today, but the locals aren’t standing idly by.
Even though the president has no public appearances, according to The Oregonian, many are already our in force — over 8,000 by one estimate — telling the president to go home.

“My family, my friends, everybody down here is not happy about him coming,” Roseburg native Michelle Finn told The Oregonian yesterday.
“He already says he’s going to politicize this — he’s already going to push his agenda. And if he knew Roseburg and Douglas County, he’d know these are the wrong people to be doing that with.”
