An illegal alien already deported once for a sex offense conviction has been nabbed again by U.S. Border Patrol agents.
Fernando Perez-Espericueta was apprehended by Carrizo Springs Border Patrol agents near Carrizo Springs, Texas, San Angelo Live reports.
“The men and women of the Border Patrol play a crucial role in apprehending prior deport individuals crossing between our ports of entry,” says Chief Patrol Agent, Del Rio Sector Rodolfo Karisch. “Our agents are vigilant and work diligently to protect the public and keep our communities safe.”
According to the news site:
During processing, agents discovered that Perez-Espericueta was a convicted and registered sex offender. Criminal records checks revealed that Perez-Espericueta was arrested in Dallas for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a child; a first degree felony. On Sept. 6, 2011, Perez-Espericueta was sentenced to five years confinement and subsequently removed to Mexico on June 17, 2013.
During FY 2015, Del Rio agents apprehended 13 previously deported sex offenders. Since October 1 of this year, they’ve already recaptured five.
Meanwhile, illegal alien Azucena Garcia-Ferniza was arrested at a Salina, Kansas hotel and charged with “three counts of failure to appear for court proceedings” related to a fatal shooting, the Salina Journal reports.
Police say she attempted to conceal a gun used to kill 17-year-old Allie Saum.
Garcia-Ferniza also faces “Saline County charges of interference with law enforcement, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and violating a no-contact order by visiting her boyfriend, Macio D. Palacio Jr., in Saline County Jail,” according to the paper.
Police say the illegal’s co-workers allegedly hid her in a box in the hotel’s store room while cops and federal agents searched for her.
Garcia-Ferniza allegedly hid her boyfriend’s loaded gun in her pants while investigators obtained a search warrant for her residence. Police located the gun and arrested the illegal immigrant.
ICE has filed an immigration detainer, citing the “seriousness of the charges she faces.”
