At a forum in New Hampshire today, a voter called out Hillary Clinton for labeling Republicans “the enemy.”
But instead of admitting she was wrong or apologizing, Hillary attempted to justify her statement by saying Republicans “sometimes view me that way.”
“As a student of history, I feel right now this country is the most divided since the Civil War,” the Hew Hampshire voter said. “My question to you is, for the first time in all the times I’ve listened to you, you said ‘Republicans as your enemy’ is disheartening. I’m not asking you to retract it, what I’m asking you is when you are president, will you please extend the olive branch because we are all Americans.”
Clinton answered, “I agree with that,” but then attempted to shift the blame by saying, “You know, I was answering — I think they sometimes view me that way, like the Iranians, etc.”
Hillary said Republicans say “great things” about her when she’s in office, but “it’s a little different” when she’s running.
