There’s nothing quite like honoring American veterans by posting a photo of militants who wish to kill them.
Whether it was intentional or out of utter ignorance is unknown, but Wednesday, CNN contributor Marc Lamont Hill posted a photo intended to serve as a remembrance of U.S. vets.
He posted this to Instagram and later deleted it:
“Happy Veteran’s Day,” Hill captioned the photo.
It turns out the women in the photo are communist Cuban militants. Missed honoring U.S. vets by a mere 80 miles.
Mediaite notes the photo was from a Cuba propaganda event commemorating the failed Bay of Pigs invasion in which Americans and anti-communism Cubans died.
Hill later posted several tweets defending his intent and said he was actually trying to post a photo of “a West African female battalion.”
@theblaze this is a non-story. I attempted to post a West African female battalion. Posted the wrong pic and deleted.

Because that’s so much better…
