On Wednesday night, DC Metro Transit Police issued a “BOLO” — or Be On the Look Out — for four Middle Eastern-looking men, but did not release it to the public.

“The Metro Transit Police is requesting assistance to identify the above pictured individuals in reference to suspicious activity that was observed at the Pentagon Metro Station … on Sunday, November 15, 2015 from approximately 1600 hours to 1630 hours,” the bulletin reads.

The four younger-looking men appear to have beards and be of Middle Eastern descent.

Fox 5 reporter Emily Miller, who posted it to Facebook, says she received it from a source.

Note their heavy coats, even though it was warm on Sunday,” Miller writes. According to Accuweather, it would have been about 64° at that time Sunday.

After Miller posted it on social media, the Metro Transit Police tweeted a response, writing, “Re reporter tweet purporting to show MTPD bolo: Cannot confirm/deny authenticity; MTPD does not comment on non-public material.”

“Metro has not made this BOLO public but my source thought it needed to get out sooner than later,” the reporter writes.

Meanwhile, Metro Police have stepped up patrols and searches after Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris, France.

WAMU reported Monday:

In addition to more officers, K9s, and random screening for explosives, Metro says its local and federal law enforcement partners are implementing “other countermeasures that are not visible to the traveling public.”

It’s unclear whether the BOLO is related to the ramped up scrutiny of travelers.

According to WAMU, “A White House foreign policy official says ISIS would probably like to attack the U.S., but doubts it has the capability to do so.”
