A new poll taken in several swing states finds Hillary Clinton’s position on admitting Syrian refugees into America is out of step with most voters.
Among the respondents in the key states of Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Ohio and Virginia — which was a nearly even split between Democrats, Republicans and Independents — 57% said they had an unfavorable opinion of Clinton, compared to just 32% who said they viewed her favorably, the survey by Vox Populi Polling finds.
When asked “Hillary Clinton will say or do anything in order to get elected president,” a whopping 65% of respondents agreed, with 46% of them saying they “strongly agree.” Only 27% disagreed.
Trust issues continue to plague the former secretary of state.
The largest percentage — 45% — say they “completely distrust” Clinton, while 13% say they “somewhat distrust” her, for a combined 58%. Only 14% say they “completely” trust Clinton.
Voters also say the likely Democratic standard bearer represents the past and not the future.
A combined 48% of respondents agreed with that statement, while 34% disagreed.
When is comes to Clinton’s actions and positions, 44% of respondents said they were “much less likely” to support her after hearing about her potential “gross negligence” violations in handling national defense information under the Espionage Act, stemming from the email scandal.
Strangely, 6% said they were “much more likely” to vote for her after hearing about the facts of the scandal.
After hearing about Clinton’s support for bringing Syrian refugees into America — even after the terrorist attack in Paris — 53% said they were less likely to support the candidate, with 44% saying they were “much less likely.”
