A news crew’s vehicle was in view when it was broken into during an anti-robbery press conference, Fox 5 reporter Emily Miller says.
Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Cathy Lanier were holding a press conference Wednesday to “discuss a task force created to fight robberies,” ABC 7 reports.
A photo published by the news station shows the rear driver side window smashed out of a maroon Ford Escape.

While the crew was feet away covering the event, “thieves tore through the news vehicle Wednesday morning and a culprit smashed a window out of the car and stole a cache of equipment,” according to reporter Stephen Tschida.
Tschida says the crime happened less than 100 feet from the press conference and “within view of the mayor.”
“Classic DC!” Miller observed on Facebook.
