Saddam Hussein’s go-to mouthpiece during the Persian Gulf war was “Baghdad Bob,” the trusty propagandist who insisted Americans weren’t on Iraqi soil, despite video evidence to the contrary.

He had nothing on Hillary Clinton’s “Manchester Mook.”

Robby Mook, Clinton’s campaign manager, sent out an urgent campaign fundraising email plea Wednesday morning, asking readers to donate a dollar because things are close.

“The polls in Iowa and New Hampshire are neck-and-neck, and Hillary isn’t taking these contests for granted,” he writes. “She’s out there fighting for every last vote, and she needs her team to fight just as hard.”

But MSNBC reports things aren’t really all that close.

Sanders is winning New Hampshire by a stunning 27 points, 60% to 33%.

“He led by 10 points in this poll back in December,” “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough notes. “Clinton led by 8 points in June.”

Scarborough notes the new poll found Sanders viewed favorably by 91% of Democrats, compared to only 65% of Dems having a positive view of Clinton.

Regardless of the evidence — or the Sanders supporters marching through the streets of Manchester and across New Hampshire — Mook claims, “I love how Hillary shows the world what a real leader looks like when she debates: confident, passionate, decisive, and knowledgeable about every single question the moderators could throw at her.

“But debate performances alone don’t win elections — committed teams of supporters like this one do. Bernie’s supporters raised $1 million on Sunday, and he’s already outspending us on TV in Iowa and New Hampshire.”
