The Hillary for America campaign issued its latest hair-on-fire email to supporters Friday in which it tries to guilt them into giving money.
Titled, “This isn’t OK anymore,” National Finance Director Dennis Cheng essentially shames people into making a contribution to keep up with the insurgent Bernie Sanders.
He writes, “There’s something that’s been keeping me up at night lately: Every national poll of this election shows that we have significantly more supporters than Bernie Sanders does, but way more of his supporters are stepping up and donating to his campaign.
“That may have been OK in the run-up to voting, but we’re down to the wire here, and it’s time for everyone to step up.”
He then asks for $1.
Cheng’s begging may be an indication that the campaign is fast approaching money woes.
On Wednesday, while candidates should be campaigning in the early states, Clinton whisked into Texas to attend a private fundraiser.
She raked in over $400,000 at the home of Tahir Javed, “chief executive of Riceland Health Care and Starco Implex,” the Beaumont Enterprise reports.
Congressman Nick Lampson tells the paper about 250 people paid anywhere from $1,000 to $2,700 to attend.
