If Hillary Clinton loses in New Hampshire today, all eyes will be on the staff who officially lost the first-in-the-nation primary to a 74-year-old socialist.
Speculation swirled yesterday that Bill and Hillary would seek a campaign shakeup after an anticipated loss, with the most logical head to roll being that of campaign manager Robby Mook.
But as of Monday afternoon, Hillary’s standing by her man.
Clinton denied the report that there would be a staff shakeup, saying, “I have no idea what they’re talking about or who they’re talking to.
“We’re going to take stock but it’s going to be the campaign that I’ve got. I’m very confident in the people that I have. I’m very committed to them, they’re very committed to doing the best we can.
“We’re going to take stock,” Clinton repeated, “what works, what doesn’t work. We’re moving into a different phase of the campaign.”
Hillary also took the opportunity take a swipe at Bernie Sanders and his “young people.”
After criticizing Sanders’s “tone,” Clinton said, “He gets his supporters — he sends them messages and his campaign then amplifies those messages and then a lot of his young people get really worked up and they’re going off on tangents — they can attack me, that’s fine, I’m in the arena.”
