Gaylord Maines has seen 16 American presidents come and go.

The 107-year-old Knoxville, Tennessee resident first voted for Warren G. Harding.

“Oh, he was an odd ball,” Maines tells CBS 8. “We had prohibition. Nobody was allowed to have any whiskey he had all the booze you needed for his parties.”

The man who’s voted for Republicans and Democrats in the past is sizing up this year’s field and cast his ballot “for the only guy worthwhile”: Donald Trump.

“Honest, successful, strong and like George Patton,” Maines says of Trump, “makes us so damn mad you wouldn’t like him.”

Franklin D. Roosevelt was Maines’ favorite president, while he criticized Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

“I had a problem with him disgracing the office of the presidency,” he says of Clinton while adding he’s had “disagreements” with the current Oval Office occupant.

Perhaps channeling Trump, he says, “You guys better forget that you are not imbued with any sense of loyalty just because you were elected by your fellow citizens: you’re hired to do a job!”

Maines voted early in the Tennessee primary, which will be held March 1st.

State election officials believe he’s one of the oldest voters in the country.
