A high profile surrogate for the Hillary Clinton campaign says she would be open to supporting Bernie Sanders for president.
After all, she believes, Hillary isn’t that much different from the socialist senator.
Wisconsin Congresswoman Gwen Moore appeared on MSNBC on Tuesday and said she would be willing to support Clinton’s rival.
“If he is the GOP opponent in November, could you support him?” Moore was asked.
“Oh, absolutely,” Moore responded. “I’m absolutely proud of our two candidates unlike the other side. I think both of our candidates are excellent. I’m glad that Bernie is bringing excitement and generating enthusiasm on our side.
“I don’t see huge differences in many of the issues between Secretary Clinton and Bernie Sanders but, you know, Secretary Clinton has really stood trial. I mean, think of the 11 hours at the Benghazi hearing.
“And, uh, all of the stuff that’s going on and I think, uh, that if Bernie was subject to the same sort of vetting and scrutiny you would see that she would still come out on top.”
