John Podesta, uh, is good at, uh, not answering questions about Hillary’s lack of trustworthiness.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman appeared on “This Week” today and was challenged on polls that show Democratic voters overwhelmingly don’t trust Clinton, as well as the lingering investigation into her email server.
Podesta gave two answers totaling 56 seconds — and said “uh” 17 times.
“Polls this week showed that the number of Democrats who still question whether Secretary Clinton is honest and trustworthy is as high as it’s ever been,” host George Stephanopoulos told Podesta.
“Secretary Clinton said this week that she’s still trying to figure that out. Isn’t it getting late in the game to try to figure that out?”
“Well look, I think that, uh,” Podesta responded, “what, uh, again, we’re sit, we’re sitting here in New York. People had questions about her when she ran in New York, uh, but they had no questions about her, uh, once she got into office.
“Uh, as she has said, maybe she’s, you know, better at doing the job than campaigning for the job. But I think that what she, uh, can do, what she needs to do is go out, answer people’s questions, uh, be out and campaign. That’s what she’s doing here. She really enjoys campaigning in New York.
“She’s been, uh, all over the city and all over upstate and she’ll continue to do that, uh, until April 19th when the primary comes.”
On the issue of the ongoing FBI investigation into Hillary’s homebrewed email server, Stephanopoulos said, “Probably need to clear away the questions about the email server, as well.
“Have you made any arrangements with the FBI and as a practical political matter, don’t you have to get this wrapped up by the convention?”
Podesta responded, “That’s, that’s up to the, the, uh, uh, (FBI Director) Mr. Comey. It’s not in our control.
“Uh, she offered last summer, uh, to be interviewed, if that’s what they liked, if that’s what they wanted. I think, uh, as has come out now, uh, other, uh, Secretary Powell, uh, top aides to Secretary Rice did the same thing, uh, if they wanted to talk to her, they can talk to her, but they haven’t asked for that,” Podesta said.
