Hillary Clinton is doing her best to strike a general election pose, but that means shifting her focus away from the surging socialist senator.

Clinton released a new ad on Monday that denounces Trump for his statements on abortion, illegal immigrants and banning Muslim immigration.

“Donald Trump says we can solve America’s problems by turning against each other,” Clinton says in the ad. The American Mirror was unable to find a time he ever made such a statement.

“It’s wrong and it goes against everything New York and America stand for,” she says.

“With so much at stake, she’s the one tough enough to stop Trump,” the narrator claims in the ad.

Shifting her focus away from Sanders is a dicey proposition at this point. He’s won 7 of the last 8 caucuses and primaries.

The Real Clear Politics average of polls shows Clinton with a 14-point lead over Sanders in the Empire State.

That’s a dramatic surge, given less than one month ago, an Emerson College poll of likely primary voters found Clinton leading Sanders by a whopping 48 points, 71% to 23%.
