Singer Carole King is not the queen of New York City — and apparently neither is Hillary Clinton.
King decided, for whatever reason, to go door-to-door in a New York City apartment building on behalf of her candidate.
She likely thought because of her celebrity status — and the assumption that *everyone* in New York loves Hillary — that she’d be able to get a little face time with an average New Yorker.
Well, not so much.
Someone named Jess Leinwand posted a video on YouTube showing King standing inside an apartment building at the panel of door buzzers.
“Hello?” the resident said after she pushed a random button.
“Hi, my name is Carole King. I am a singer and you may know my name and it is actually me,” the apparently very self-important King told the unidentified woman.
“I wanted to know if I could come up and speak with you. I’m working on behalf of Hillary Clinton.”
“No,” the woman said flatly. “If I were you, I would ring the apartments on the first floor.”
“The first floor?” King responded.
“Yes,” the woman said.
“Okay…thank you,” King said, clearly not anticipating the response. She walked away, seemingly stunned.
