Donald Trump supporters — including at least two children — were pepper-sprayed by a protester who apparently sought a confrontation with them outside the Anaheim, California city hall.

The incident took place on Tuesday as the city council was considering a resolution to denounce Trump’s “divisive rhetoric.” A racially diverse group had assembled to criticize the council’s resolution.

A woman wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat could be seen helping to wipe the children’s eyes after someone pulled out a can of pepper spray to use on the Trump supporters.

The New York Daily News reports:

A pair of young girls, ages 8 and 11, were among the bystanders struck by an anti-Trump counter-protester’s stream of pepper spray into the crowd. The unidentified suspect then fled the demonstration, Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt said…

“He sprayed me in the face, then at the same time I was backing away he sprayed that little girl at the same time,” a man wearing a Trump hat and t-shirt said, still holding his eyes.

“I know what he looks like. We got a picture of him and we’re going to prosecute him,” the man told the media.
