As Terry McAuliffe’s story changes to include an acknowledgment that he met Chinese businessman Wang Wenliang, he’s also going on the attack against the Obama Department of Justice.

Appearing on WTOP, the Virginia governor reversed his statement from yesterday, when he claimed he had never met Wang.

“To Mr. Wang, who I probably met once or twice in my life,” McAuliffe said, “I’m not exactly sure.” He then called Wang a “fine, upstanding individual.”

That’s a stark departure from his statement yesterday, when he told the media he didn’t think he’s ever met Wang.

“This was an allegation of a gentleman who gave a check to my campaign. I didn’t bring the donor in. I didn’t bring him into the Clinton Foundation.

“I’m not sure if I’ve ever met the person, to be honest with you,” McAuliffe said. “I know the folks who worked in his company.”

McAuliffe lashed out at the DOJ during his appearance on WTOP.

“I must say I was somewhat shocked when this got leaked. And let me say right off the bat it is very unfortunate that our institutions of integrity like Justice and the FBI would leak information.

“They should be held to a higher standard,” McAuliffe said.

CNN reported on Monday that the FBI is investigating contributions to McAuliffe’s 2013 campaign.

“As part of the probe, the officials said, investigators have scrutinized McAuliffe’s time as a board member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a vehicle of the charitable foundation set up by former President Bill Clinton,” according to CNN.

“There’s no allegation that the foundation did anything improper; the probe has focused on McAuliffe and the electoral campaign donations, the officials said.”

Wang is reportedly at the center of those donations.
