Dr. Dorothy Woods is finally speaking out about the death of her husband at the hands of Islamic terrorists in Benghazi, Libya nearly four years ago.

Appearing on CNN in her first interview, the widow of former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods said she was not looking for a specific person to blame. “That doesn’t change anything,” she said.

But she did have very pointed criticisms of the government bureaucracy and leadership.

“To place a blame? I blame the blame on this sentiment, this attitude in the upper level of government that says, ‘Hey, you know what? I’m just going to lie about this, gloss over it because I want to protect what I look like. I’m thinking about the next job. I’m thinking about my retirement.'”

Woods was asked to address the comment Hillary Clinton made earlier this week after the House Select Committee on Benghazi issued a report about the attack.

“I understand that after two years and more than $7 million spent by the Benghazi committee out of taxpayer funds, it had to report today that it had found nothing — nothing to contradict the conclusions of the independent accountability board, or the conclusions of the prior, multiple earlier investigations carried out on a bi-partisan basis,” Clinton said.

“I’ll leave it to others to characterize this report, but I think it’s pretty clear it’s time to move on,” Clinton declared.

“I think that nobody in government can tell me how I feel, what I should feel about it,” Woods responded. “She has no right, nor does anyone in government have the right, to tell me it’s time to move on.

“They’re not in my shoes. That’s the essence of what they have done. They’ve been dismissive. The committee has been ridiculed,” she said.

She credited the committee for its work and didn’t appreciate the criticism leveled towards it.

“To care about Americans, that’s what’s important,” Woods said.

“I agree in a way with her that it’s for the public to decide. Some people have made their decision, others haven’t. But the facts are there, and it’s up to the American people to really figure out where they fall in this.”

Woods added that she’s never spoken one-on-one with anyone in the State Department or the White House about the incident. She said the only time she saw anyone in the administration was during the repatriation ceremony at Andrews Air Force Base.
