After the FBI’s recommendation of no charges over her use of a private email server, Hillary Clinton did her best to avoid talking to rank-and-file Americans and the media.
Clinton was scheduled to give a speech to the National Education Association, but was delayed by 20 minutes while FBI Director James Comey gave his address.
After Clinton’s 30-minute speech to unionists, MSNBC’s Kasie Hunt reported she “steered clear” of the rope line, a staple in campaign appearances.
“I tried to get a word with her about this after the event, she steered clear of the rope line. (She) talked very briefly to some folks here that reporters couldn’t get to.”
Hunt said Clinton’s top aides — including Huma Abedin — also avoided the media.
She said the campaign was “thinking very methodically before coming out.”
