A Louisiana millennial exacted revenge on an invader of her safe space by swiping it from someone’s yard.

Madelyn ChristinaMadelyn Rose Christina, 18, allegedly trespassed on the private property of a Harahan homeowner on July 4th to steal the person’s Confederate battle flag.

Harahan police were able to identify the suspect from surveillance footage obtained from the home.

Once apprehended, Christina was notified of her rights and at that point, she “freely admitted stealing the flag because it was racist,” according to a news release from the police department.

When officers went to Christina’s car to retrieve the flag, they reportedly found “narcotics and drug paraphernalia,” according to KATC, which allegedly included marijuana, cocaine and Alprazolam.

The Times-Picayune reports Christina was charged with “two counts of drug possession, theft of under $100, flag desecration, criminal trespassing and simple criminal damage to property.”

Her bond was set at $13,250.

According to Louisiana state law, it is against the law to desecrate “any duly authorized flag, shield, standard, color or ensign of the United States, the State of Louisiana, or the Confederate States of America, or any copy thereof.”

Police say she ripped the flag when she tore it off the pole.
