It wasn’t clear if Hillary Clinton reached to caress the bottle of hot sauce in her purse for comfort when she was asked about “the most meaningful conversation” she’s had with a black person.
Speaking to black and Hispanic reporters in Washington, DC today, Clinton hemmed and hawed about the number of black people she knows.
Calling her black friends her “crew,” she said, “They’ve supported me, they’ve chastised me, they’ve raised issues with me, they’ve tried to expand my musical tastes. We’ve had a lot of great times because of our friendships.”
She refused to elaborate on any specific conversation.
