Michelle Obama sought to leverage the recent stardom of American Olympians by asking them what “healthy foods” they eat to “go for gold”.

On cue, American gymnasts Aly Raisman and Simone Biles responded by embracing Michelle O-approved foods such as fish, whole grains and fruits.

But the duo went off script when they celebrated their gold medals by taking a photo of themselves scarfing down french fries and chocolate ice cream at McDonald’s.

They either got so much flack from Obama’s disciples, or felt guilty that they would let down the first lady that Raisman later asked Obama to “ignore” the McDonald’s photo.
