Hillary Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook offered some pretty wild conspiracy theories on national TV this morning — while accusing Donald Trump of peddling some of his own.
Mook went full-on tinfoil hat on “This Week” today when he claimed the Russians and the Kremlin are at “the core” of Trump’s campaign.
After accusing new Trump campaign CEO Steve Bannon of running “some of the worst conspriacy theories around” on Breitbart News, Mook speculated about Russia’s involvement in the U.S. election.
“Paul Manafort has been pushed out, but that doesn’t mean that the Russians have been pushed out of this campaign,” Mook told George Stephanopoulos.
“The hand of the Kremlin has been at work in this campaign for some time. It’s clear that they’re supporting Donald Trump.
“We now need Donald Trump to explain to us the extent to which the hand of the Kremlin is at the core of his own campaign,” Mook said.
Previously, Clinton’s campaign has chided Trump for supposedly using right wing sites to say “some people” are bringing up questions about Clinton’s health, activities at the Clinton Foundation and more, Mook used the exact same tactic.
“There’s a web of financial interests that have not been disclosed and there are real questions being raised about whether Donald Trump himself is just a puppet for the Kremlin in this race.”
“You’re saying Donald Trump is a puppet for the Kremlin?” an astonished Stephanopoulos said.
“Well, real questions are being raised about that,” Mook repeated, again using the supposed tactic his campaign has criticized Trump for using.
Mook went on to say Trump is “parroting” Vladimir Putin in his own statements.
