An attempted “revenge killing” took place surprisingly close to Bill and Hillary Clinton’s home in the tony community of Chappaqua, New York on Monday.
News 12 reports:
A 49-year-old Tuckahoe man was charged with attempted murder after police say he opened fire outside Lange’s Deli in Chappaqua Monday morning.
New Castle police say Hengjun Chao remained at the scene where gunshots pierced the window of the deli and injured two people — one of whom was his intended target.
Police say the target was Chao’s former boss Dennis Charney, a leading expert in psychiatry specializing in mood and anxiety disorders.
According to court documents, Chao was a researcher at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City under Charney before being terminated in 2009.
Chao filed a lawsuit claiming discrimination, but it was dismissed.
Fox 5 notes the incident – which the anchor described as “a revenge shooting about revenge” — took place “about a mile” from the Clintons home.
The crime occurred seven-tenths of a mile from their home, which is virtually right down the road.
According to Fox 5, Chao was fired for “data fraud.”
