Employees of the company Hillary Clinton used to store her personal emails invoked their Fifth Amendment rights 11 times before the House Oversight and Oversight Reform Committee on Tuesday.
Over the course of about 10 minutes, Chairman Jason Chaffetz and Ranking Member Elijah Cummings asked several different questions, ranging from an invitation to provide an opening statement to seeking explanations to internal emails regarding the handling of Hillary Clinton’s personal email server, and each time, Platte River Networks employees Paul Combetta or Bill Thornton replied,”On the advice of counsel, I respectfully decline to answer and assert my Fifth Amendment privilege.”
Combetta even refused to answer whether he was going to continue invoking his Fifth Amendment right when asked.
After Combetta was excused from the table. After Thornton pleaded the Fifth two more times, he was dismissed, as well.
